Brenda is the wife of a retired military veteran and mother to three teenagers. She has a heart for the Lord and strongly believes her calling is helping others. She has dedicated her life to providing help and comfort for people during hard times and genuinely wants to help you navigate your difficulties. She knows first-hand the difficulties that come with military life, the sometimes amazing - sometimes not so amazing - rollercoaster of marriage, life with kids/teens, grief, and many other trials that she has personally experienced. Each one made her more compassionate and empathetic, equipping her to help you make it safely to the other side of your journey.
Brenda earned a Master of Arts degree in Marriage & Family Therapy and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology which included a concentration in Christian Counseling, both from Liberty University. She interned under Joshua Keene, LMFT, as a part of her bachelor’s degree, and she also completed a practicum at Faith & Hope Counseling as a part of her Master's program. Brenda has received training and completed classes in many areas including: counseling theories and techniques, ethics, and group work. She is also skilled in several marriage and family special focus areas which include premarital counseling, marriage counseling, human development, family systems and dynamics, as well as family and individual therapy for children 10 years and up.
I pray everyday that LifeSong will bring hope and healing to many...for God's glory. In fact, that is the origin of the name, "LifeSong". There is a song that says:
" May the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You
I want to sign Your name to the end of this day
Knowing that my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to You"
I try to live that way. I fail every single day at being perfect, as we all do. However, I do my best to stay true to my goal of helping others in His name.
Feel free to reach out to me if I can help you through life's ups and downs. God bless you!
LifeSong is located on the 1st floor inside First City Church at
1301 E. Gadsden in beautiful East Hill - Pensacola. You may park at the front of the church on Gadsden Street. As seen in the picture here, you will walk just to the right of the main stair entry. Follow the sidewalk to the right, and you will walk down a few small steps to find the door to LifeSong. (The counseling center entry is located immediately below the main church office entry, which is indicated by bright orange signs.) When you reach the door, you can ring the video doorbell to be buzzed into the building. You will hear a series of clicks, and at that time, simply pull on the door handle (which will NOT turn). Follow the LifeSong signs a short distance down the hall, and you will see the counseling center on your right.
If you have trouble finding the office, feel free to call/text (850) 293-0031 or call the main church number at (850) 433-0210.
